Noise not music

Awful, ugly noises, ugly cover, i can go on and on but there are not enough words to describe it.. A friend of mine thought he like the one song but even that song was not at all how he remembered it!

Great, fun rock and roll madness

I discovered three amazing bands on here, each doing amazing ear-bleeding covers: the Hentchmen, the Brood, and Teengenerate. Juimonos was also a revelation. The rest is just good clean fun rockabilly. Would go perfectly in any honky tonk or vinyl hoedown. If you like Hank Williams, Link Wray, Roger Miller, you''ll have a lot of fun with this.

this is possibly the best in a useless genre: tribute albums. most tributes are absolutely useless. why bother listening to covers of great material when you can get the original? i mean, jimi hendrix tributes??? WHY??? but then you''ve got this. these cover versions SHRED the originals. you cant fault sam the sam and the pharoahs. they were fun enough, if a bit innocuous. the wonderful folks at norton got together an unbelievable array of rockers to take sam''s songs that much farther. having hasil adkins lead it off & make wooly bully, a classic of inanity, even MORE incomprehensible is a fantastic idea. and it just gets better. the high points are too many to list here, the tracks that dont quite cut it are over soon enough, and it all packs great rock and roll WOMPF! my personal faves are the covers by the lyres, devil dogs, handsome dick, nine pound hammer, a bones, teengenerate & the vacant lot, but theres so much more. my one grouse is the overabundance of similar sounding instrumentals, theres no need to pad this out. if you can find the vinyl, you get the mummies cover of "uncle willie". regardless, this is fantastic. dont you be L7 and buy this!!!

Probably the only good and/or meaningful tribute record ever made
Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2016
Probably the only good and/or meaningful tribute record ever made. This is a who''s who of contemporary (at least in the mid 90''s when it was made) garage rock bands covering the ultimate garage band- Sam the Sham and Pharaohs. If you like garage rock you will love this.
